Oktober raus." ("After nearly 2 years since 'Flicker' i'm ready to go. My new single #NiceToMeetYa is out October 4th.")
("I like the way you talk. I like the things you wear. I want your number tattooed on my arm in ink. I swear.Cause when the morning comes, I know you won’t be there. Every time I turn around, you disappear." und fährt weiter fort: "In der einen Minute bist du da und in der nächsten schon wieder weg.” (“One minute, you’re there, the next one, you’re gone.")
With his full-length solo debut Flicker, Capitol Records recording artist Niall Horan achieved massive global success and widespread critical acclaim. Arriving in October 2017, the album entered the Billboard 200 at No. 1 and soon earned platinum certification or greater in 18 countries (including the U.S.), eventually racking up 3 million adjusted album sales globally and nearly 3.5 billion streams worldwide. Now, the 26-year-old singer/songwriter offers the first glimpse at his highly anticipated sophomore album: an unstoppable new single showcasing his dynamic musicianship and magnetic vocal work.
Co-written by Niall with his longtime collaborator Julian Bunetta (Maroon 5, Jessie Ware), Tobias Jesso, Jr. (Florence + the Machine, Adele), and Ruth-Anne Cunningham (John Legend, Pentatonix), “Nice to Meet Ya” is a sublime piece of piano-driven pop built on smooth production from Bunetta. With its soulful groove and bright hand percussion, the track provides a brilliant backdrop to Niall’s irresistible vocals and playful yet heartfelt lyrics. Niall says of this record: “It’s been nearly two years since I released “Flicker” and I can’t wait to get going again. Writing “Nice To Meet Ya”, in particular, was a special one for me and I’m so excited to finally share it with everyone.”
Originally from Mullingar, Ireland, Niall has sold over 80 million records and toured the globe multiple times as part of the iconic One Direction. In September 2016 he made his solo debut with the double-platinum single “This Town,” a track that’s now amassed over 800 million streams worldwide. The following spring, Niall delivered Flicker’s funk-infused lead single “Slow Hands” — a May 2017 release that shot straight to No. 1 in 44 countries, reached the top spot on Billboard’s Mainstream Top 40, topped 10 million in adjusted track sales globally with 1.5 billion streams worldwide, and went platinum or higher in 24 countries (including three-times platinum in the U.S., Mexico, and Brazil; eight-times platinum in Canada; six-times platinum in Singapore; and five-times platinum in Australia and Ireland).
Made with leading producers like Greg Kurstin (Paul McCartney, Beck, Liam Gallagher), Flicker found Niall accompanying himself on piano and guitar, drawing inspiration from both classic artists like Fleetwood Mac and Crosby, Stills & Nash and contemporaries like The Lumineers and James Bay. In addition to surpassing 3 million in worldwide album sales, Flicker instantly hit the No. 1 spot on the iTunes Top Albums chart in 61 countries across the globe.
Along with “Slow Hands,” Flicker features hit singles like the breezy pop-rock jam “On the Loose” and the gold-certified ballad “Too Much to Ask” (a track that’s garnered 3.5 million in adjusted track sales globally and exceeded 500 million streams worldwide) — both of which landed on Billboard’s Mainstream Top 40 chart. In support of the album, Niall embarked on his first-ever world tour, including sold-out dates in the U.S., Canada, UK/Europe, Singapore, Japan, Brazil, and Australia.
